Vello product policy
Vello Privacy Policy
This policy applies to Vello, Joletory's native macOS screen recorder. Vello is designed so core recording and export work locally on your Mac.
Effective date:
1. Summary
- Screen recordings and exported files stay on your Mac unless you choose to share them.
- Vello does not include analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
- Joletory does not sell your personal data or show advertising in Vello.
- Core recording and export do not require a network connection.
2. Data stored on your device
Vello stores preferences such as recording options, keyboard shortcuts, and your chosen save folder locally with UserDefaults inside the app sandbox. Recordings are written to temporary local storage while you edit them. Exports go to a folder you choose in the save panel or previously authorized with a security-scoped bookmark.
3. Screen and microphone permissions
Vello may ask macOS for these permissions:
- Screen Recording — required to capture a display, window, or region.
- Microphone — used only when you enable audio recording.
macOS manages these permissions. You can review or revoke them in System Settings under Privacy & Security.
4. Network use and analytics
Vello does not need a network connection for its core recording, trimming, or export features. The app does not contain third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs and does not automatically upload your screen content to Joletory.
5. Information you choose to send
If you contact Joletory by email or open an issue in Vello's public source repository, the chosen service receives the information you submit. Do not include a private recording unless you intentionally want to share it for support.
